Jane Butler and Jennifer Andreasson
Jane Butler and Jennifer Andreasson have sailed together for 5 years now. They began in the Feva class, acheiving top results at both national and international level. The next year, they progressed to the 420 dinghy, which they have sailed for over two years now. They have been reigning national women's champions for 4 years running. In 2009, they qualified to represent Ireland in the ISAF Youth World Championships in Brazil. After coming 11th place at the Open World Championships in Lake Garda, Italy this year, they qualified again to represent Ireland at the 2010 Volvo Isaf Youth Worlds in Istanbul, Turkey. They achieved a 5th place position in the women's section of the 420 Junior European Championships in La Rochelle, France that summer.
No longer eligable for the youth category, they decided to move onto the competitive olympic class dinghy, the 470. They have set aside a training programme this year with coach Ross Killian to go alongside their leaving certificate exams in school. They hope to compete in both the under 21 World and European 470 Championships this summer 2011.
